Avast! Have you seen the Blood & Plunder 2 player starter set yet?! This awesome box set features that battles of Blackbeard vs Maynard.
The others are still being finished and placed on the ship, but they will be on their way soon! This is fantastic news as it has been some time since the Raise the Black Kickstarter campaign.
Blood & Plunder: Blackbeard vs Maynard Finally Hitting Our Shores
Personally, I missed buying in during the Kickstarter campaign so I will be eagerly awaiting news on the Firelock Games website for whenever this amazing looking two player starter set enters retail sales. How much this will cost on the retail market, I am not sure yet, but here is a reminder of what was in it from the Kickstarter campaign.

To me this looks absolutely awesome, and I want to get my hands on a box. The miniatures within will be made of hard plastic, which happens to be my favorite material for building models. Seeing a box set in the hands of a Firelock Games employee has me so excited!!!
In the arms of a Firelock Games employee, this game looks massive. I want to get my hands on that box!!!
While this is the first box to arrive at Firelock Games, they still have to wait for the others to be completed and placed on a ship. That means we will still have a bit of a wait, but this is progress for sure! On top of news about Blackbeard vs Maynard, Firelock Games has an absolute ton of new stuff in the works. Let me tell you about some of it.
Firelock Games Plans for the Remainder of 2022 Onwards
Recently Firelock Games had a discussion where the company laid out their plans for the remainder of 2022 and perhaps a few years to come. Over on my personal site, I summarized all of their points from that discussion in a very large article, but let me give you some of the big ones related to Blood and Plunder.
- The production part of Raise the Black is now complete.
- Kickstarter should arrive to Firelock Games Mid-October to Mid-November.
- International logistics make giving exact estimates on dates tough.
- They have a ton more planned for Blood & Plunder.

When I saw the new Blood & Plunder Blackbeard vs Maynard box in the arms of the folks at Firelock Games, I had to share the news. It has been a long wait and the pandemic has been difficult on everyone. I am very happy to see this finally coming to fruition.
I missed the Kickstarter Campaign, so I am hoping to pick up a retail copy after the Kickstarters go out. Look at that artwork on the cover of that box!
