Kick off horror season with this incredibly creepy-looking movie about a doctor that has to confront a strange contagion that makes its sufferers smile. Smile looks to take inspiration from It Follows and that one unsettling killer grin in Jeff Wadlow’s Truth or Dare. With its own twist, of course. The movie is based on director Parker Finn’s 2020 short film “Laura Hasn’t Slept” and it’s gotten some great reviews since its debut at Fantastic Fest. It stars Sosie Bacon, Kyle Gallner, Jessie T. Usher, Caitlin Stasey, Kal Penn, Judy Reyes, Robin Weigert, and Gillian Zinser.
After witnessing a bizarre, traumatic incident involving a patient, Dr. Rose Cotter starts experiencing frightening occurrences that she can’t explain. As an overwhelming terror begins taking over her life, Rose must confront her troubling past in order to survive and escape her horrifying new reality.
