Marvel: Crisis Protocol – Unboxing The New Sentinels & Sentinel Prime
We’ve got an early look at the new Sentinels and Sentinel Prime MK4 for Marvel: Crisis Protocol. Come check out these mutant hunting robots!
Atomic Mass Games sent us some preview copies of the upcoming Sentinels and as a big fan of the X-Men I had to take a closer look at this miniatures.
Sentinels Online And Unboxed
First up, there are two Sentinels in the Mk4 Box and one Sentinel Prime in the Prime Box. And the Prime is larger than the other two Sentinels. I wanted to get that out of the way because it can be a little hard to tell from just the sprues. After assembling all three I definitely noticed the high difference.

I would also like to point out how many different options you get for each model. They all have multiple arms and hands that you can build and pose. Their heads can also be positioned in any direction you want. The only real “static” part of these miniatures are the legs/torso — but the torso can be rotated as you see fit. The Prime also has an alternate “damaged” torso and head you can build instead. I might use those for extra terrain or something along those lines.

There’s a surprising amount of customization for these miniatures compared to much of the rest of the MCP line, relatively speaking. Then again these are some of the largest models that Atomic Mass Games has produced for the range, too. And they are large and imposing on the tabletop! I will say there went any instructions inside the box on how to build them. However, they are pretty easy to assemble with some basic hobby skills. Just dry fit everything before you add glue.

One other feature I really appreciated is that they matched the scale of “destroyed” Sentinels from previous kits. Colossus has an arm from a Sentinel in his grip and it’s very clearly the same size, albeit from a different Mark of Sentinel (the elbows aren’t the same). Even the Crashed Sentinel Terrain Pack has the same scale as the Mk4 versions which is great. These were all just really fun kits. We got them early enough I also decided to start painting them up as well.
It’s still WIP but I was going to try and get close to the box art paint job. I still need to do the base but I’m pretty happy with the look so far. I think as a whole team the Sentinels are pretty terrifying and seem like an oppressive opponent to deal with — although they might have trouble with the objectives due to their limited number. The Sentinels are arriving in October but you can pre-order them now from Atomic Mass Games.

A new breed of powerful war machines, Mark IV Sentinels are designed to eradicate mutants with their electric and plasma blasts, catch-web cables, and extraordinary physical strength. This pack adds two relentless Mark IV Sentinel ready to reinforce the new Sentinels Affiliation to players’ squads. In addition to its built in armaments and programming, this Sentinel is supplemented by three Team Tactic cards that give it even mores to work with its robotic brethren and the mummudrai Cassandra Nova.
MARVEL: CRISIS PROTOCOL – SENTINEL PRIME MK4 $49.99
A Prime Sentinel leads its robotic brethren into the battles of Marvel: Crisis Protocol in this new pack! A higher-level Sentinel that leads the hunt for mutants, the Sentinel Prime found in this pack features superior strength, weaponry, and protective hulls, making it even more of a threat. Even more dangerously, Prime Sentinels learn from every encounter with an enemy and make the data available to other Sentinels. Leading the new Sentinels Affiliation, the Sentinel Prime works particularly well with Mark IV Sentinels and Cassandra Nova. Finally, two Team Tactic cards further enhance its ability to lead the Sentinels and expand their sphere of influence.
