‘Wendell & Wild’ – Key & Peele Return with New Horror Movie
Wendell & Wild brings the comedy duo back together for a tale of demonic terror with the animator behind Coraline.
If you enjoy the animation and atmosphere of The Nightmare Before Christmas, James and the Giant Peach, and Coraline, this is a movie you’ll want to see. They have the same animator and designer – Henry Selick.
The horror fantasy focuses on Kat, a kid exploring her demons to tackle her guilt. It features the voices of Key & Peele as the demons, Wendell & Wild, she has to contend with on this bizarre journey.
Wendell & Wild Official Details
The stop motion animation is done by director Henry Selick (A Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline). And it’s based on a story he wrote with Jordan Peele. The voice cast is led by Lyric Ross as Kat Elliot, and also includes Jordan Peele, Keegan Michael Key, Angela Bassett, James Hong, and Ving Rhames.
From the delightfully wicked minds of Henry Selick and producer Jordan Peele comes an animated tale about scheming demon brothers Wendell and Wild, who enlist the aid of Kat Elliot — a tough teen with a load of guilt — to summon them to the Land of the Living. But what Kat demands in return leads to a brilliantly bizarre and comedic adventure like no other, an animated fantasy that defies the law of life and death, all told through the handmade artistry of stop motion.
Wendell & Wild debuts on Netflix on October 28.
