Fun knick-knacks, comfort items, and set pieces are how you can really set up a gaming house into a gaming home.

As someone who has often had a very bare-bones living space, I’ve recently started buying up more things just to enhance my space’s aesthetic. It can often be hard to find things when I don’t really even know what I’m looking for or what I want.

Hopefully, these items will offer some inspiration for some fun gamer gifts for yourself or someone in your life.

Welcome Doormat

There are plenty of options for gamer door mats, but a woven rendition of one of gaming’s first bait and switches is a great eye catcher for anyone who stops by.

If you’re not a big retro Mario fan, there is still plenty of other options for other series out there. But every home can use a doormat, indoor or out. So, this can be an easy pickup if you don’t already have one.

Shadow Box

A shadow box is a type of wall art that uses multiple levels of cut-out art pieces with a little distance between each layer. This gives the art a really unique look and really makes the whole thing pop.

I chose the Sonic the Hedgehog one to show off here. Because, of course I did. But you can find a shadow box for nearly any fandom out there. And there’s a pun in here somewhere about it being a Sonic Shadow box, but I can’t quite piece it together.

Novelty Mug

There are some pretty wild mugs out there, so it’s important to appreciate a novelty mug that is recognizable as some piece of pop culture while still being functional as a mug.

This Mario pipe mug is the best of both worlds as being immediately recognizable, but won’t make you still hot coffee all over yourself every time. Plus, who wouldn’t light up with joy getting served tea in this baby?

Ocarina

Speaking from personal experience, my issue with buying nice things for myself always boiled down to, “But what do I really gain from having this thing?” Well, worry not. This functional ocarina styled after Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will help you learn a skill!

The ocarina is literally an incredibly whimsical instrument and capable of a lot more than just Right, A, Down, Right, A, Down.

Couchmaster

Straight up? This thing rules. I had a very similar one throughout college and it was a game-changer in a very literal sense. I had my PC hooked up to my TV and often wanted to play PC games. So, I would hunch over the coffee table and my back and wrist would hurt from being at such awkward angles.

Once I picked up a lap desk like this, my grades started to plummet from how much I was gaming. It was great. Wouldn’t change a thing. 10/10.
