Age of Sigmar: Where’s the Balance Battlescroll
Age of Sigmar supposedly has a Balance Battlescroll on the horizon…but it’s been almost a month since it was hinted at. Where’s it at?
Almost 4 weeks ago Games Workshop dropped a Metawatch article highlighting the state of Age of Sigmar right now. It was an informative look at how they gather data, how they define the terminology, and how they plan on using it. Plus, they showed off the data for Win Rates for the armies in the game. You probably remember this chart:
While this is all great info, what I want to call out is this tidbit right here:
This was at the bottom of their article. Here’s the relevant part:
“We’re excited to hear what you all think of our next Battlescroll (coming soon!) and even more excited to measure the impact that it has!”
The next Battlescroll is supposedly “coming soon” — but that was basically 4 weeks ago. In that time, GW put out a 40k Metawatch and also the Balance Dataslate for 40k. That sort of left us wondering “what the heck happened for the AoS version?”
So…Where’s That Battlescroll?
Previously, we had Battlescroll updates in March and June. And before that we had one in December 2021. If you’re keeping track at home, that’s basically one every 3 months. If the 3 month timing had followed the pattern then we should have had one in September. We’re now in October of 2022 — which is a month later than expected. So what’s going on?
I think we can all understand how complicated the game and game balance can be. And we can also appreciate that the latest season certainly threw a wrench in the old Meta and changed things up. We can also appreciate that there’s been a couple Battletomes dropped in the meantime (and where are the FAQs for those, btw). That said…what happened to this Balance Battlescroll?
I don’t know if they had an internal deadline moved or if they just forgot and it slipped through the cracks. But I wouldn’t even bring this up if they themselves didn’t mention it in their own Metawatch article.
I hope that they are just sitting on the Balance Battlescroll and just simply forgot to press the “publish” button. Hopefully it shows up soon. Until then, I guess the AoS players are left waiting.
Release the Balance Battlescroll!
