Marvel: Crisis Protocol – Pyro Rules Reveal
The mutant with the power to manipulate fire is coming to Marvel: Crisis Protocol. Say hello to Pyro! Things are about to get lit (on fire).
Atomic Mass Games brings us another ‘From Panel to Play’ featuring an upcoming character in Marvel: Crisis Protocol. It’s Pyro who’s joining The Blob to bring us some awesome 90’s nostalgia.
“St. John Allerdyce discovered his mutant powers as a teenager. He spent his early years as a journalist after deciding that his ability to control flame, but not generate it himself, was ultimately worthless. Mystique disagreed. With the addition of a flame-generating backpack and the snappy name of Pyro, he followed her lead through the Brotherhood of Mutants and subsequent Freedom Force.”
Pyro Rules Reveal
Kicking things off, Pyro has his standard Fire Blast Attack. It’s a ranged 4 strength 5 shot that has a chance to cause the target to become Incinerated. His other basic attack is a Flame Jet. This one has the potential to generate quite a bit more energy with the trade off that it’s a Beam attack and also has one less strength at 4. Once the fires get going, Pyro can unleash an Inferno that automatically causes the target to become Incinerated and does some auto splash damage. It’s also a Strength 7 attack so it’s got some good odds to score some damage.
Pyro also has some more tricks up his flaming sleeves. Firewall allows him to Root and Slow an enemy target with range 3. It’s limited to only once per turn but it could prove extremely handy in the right spot. And then there’s Stoke the Flames. For 3 energy you get to add 2 more dice to the next attack action made by this character. You could bump Inferno up to 9 dice! Or you could take your Fire Blast or Flame Jet to Strength 7 and 6, respectively.
The final ability of Pyro is none other than Flame Manipulation. This ability triggers off of all those Incinerate special conditions. This ability allows Pyro to spread those flames to other targets within range. And if you didn’t know, Incinerate lowers the defense of a character by 1 die.
The Mutant Master of Flames is coming to Marvel: Crisis Protocol soon!
