Two New Silent Hill Games Hold Terrifying Promise For The Horror Franchise
Today’s Silent Hill transmission revealed two new Silent Hill games: a mainline Silent Hill sequel, and an atmospheric collaboration.
It is a good day for Silent Hill fans, and a bad day for anyone who was hoping to escape the 2020’s with pants unpeed. At today’s Silent Hill transmission, we got a deluge of Silent Hill news. The big livestreamed event focused on everything in the franchise, from movies and merch and a “live, real-time interactive series” that looks like it incorporates chat inputs to help shape the outcome of the show.
But most exciting in our books, were the two all new Silent Hill games that loom on the horizon. Each one is a promise of atmospheric tension and the lights in your gaming room never being turned off ever again even for a moment.
Two New Silent Hill Games – Silent Hill Townfall and Silent Hill f
We kick things off with Silent Hill; Townfall, a co-production with Annapurna Interactive and No Code Studios. Which is quite the collab, we have to say. Annapurna Interactive is known for publishing moody, narrative rich games like Stray and What Remains of Edith Finch, while No Code Studios is responsible for Stories Untold and Observation.
Observation is hands down one of the best sci-fi thrillers out there right now. In it, you play the artificial intelligence on a space station where something has… changed.
And now, the thought of this kind of experimental storytelling coming to the Silent Hill universe is just a delight. Terrifying, but delightful just the same.
Speaking of, check out the new Silent Hill f trailer. Though, seriously, CW for trypophobia.
SILENT HILL f – will be a completely new story set in 1960’s Japan featuring a beautiful, yet horrifying world. Written by Ryūkishi07, famed for Japanese visual novels dealing with murder mysteries, psychological and supernatural horror.
