Warhammer 40K Darktide devs showed off one of the new archetypes and classes in the upcoming game. Check out the Zealot: Preacher.
Warhammer 40K Darktide looms ever closer to its release date. And with it, we get a look at some of the archetypes and classes you’ll be able to play in the game. Earlier this weekend, Fatshark devs showed off a new trailer revealing one such combo: the Zealot Preacher.
Burning with righteous fury and wielding power mauls enough to purge any heretic into next Candlemas.
Warhammer 40K Zealot: Preacher
With the Zealot Preacher we get a look at how everything’s going to work in the game. When you create your Reject, you’ll pick from one of four archetypes: Zealot, Veteran, Psyker, and Ogryn (what an archetype). Each of these gives you a unique outlook on life, as well as a playstyle. Zealots are all about getting up close, whether with thunder hammer and chain axe or with close up flamethrower weapons eager to spread the Emperor’s Justice to heretics in need.
They believe that the best thing you can hope for is to die in the Emperor’s service and appear before the Golden Throne.
But each archetype is further refined with the selection of a class. Which is where the Preacher comes into the mix.
Preachers are all about continuing to fight whatever they do. They serve the Emperor with their life or their death—meaning in-game, the more damage they take, the stronger their holy wrath goes, empowering them to do even more damage.
If you want to play a more aggressive character who can fight with autopistol and combat axe, who is at their best when rushing a chosen target, the Preacher is for you. You’ll deal more and more damage as you get lower in health, but that has its own risks. However, when taking lethal damage, you might resist death, so if you want big swings, follow the path of the Zealot Preacher.
Speak not of the Emperor’s
