Warhammer 40K: Hekaton Land Fortress Kit Is A Beast
Games Workshop is showing off the plastic kit for the Hekaton Land Fortress and it’s a complete beast.
The Hekaton Land Fortress kit is certainly going to live up to the name. This massive kit is the Leagues of Votann answer to the Land Raider and it’s packing a payload worth keeping an eye on. With the firepower of a tank and the transport capacity to deliver troopers where you need them the Hekaton Land Fortress is exactly that: A Land Fortress!
Today we’re getting a look at the kit behind the beast. These Sprues are jam-packed with bits and it’s quite the impressive model to go along with it’s combat role.
“Each of these rugged battle tanks starts as three stuffed sprues – with a cheeky fourth sprue of transparent plastic for its many canopies. These don’t just contain the robust side panels, terrain-tested wheels, and formidable undercarriage of the Land Fortress – they also supply its immense armoury.”
The Hekaton Land Fortress comes in with 3 big sprues and a fourth clear plastic sprue for the canopies. It’s a chonky looking model and it’s nice to see there are some rather large panels on this model to work with. There’s quite a few big bits for the main chassis but there’s also quite a few smaller bits in case you thought this was going to be an easy build.
Furthermore, we also get a better idea of how this kit can be built.
“Stock, this beauty comes with a pan spectral scanner for sweeping terrain, a cyclic ion cannon that unleashes high-powered blasts, a rear-mounted MATR autocannon, and a whopping four bolt cannons – the latter on spherical mountings for maximum field of fire.”
We knew what the Hekaton could pack based on the Datasheet but this gives it a bit more depth as all those options are physically represented in plastic now. Oh and as for more options, you can also swap out the scanner for other one-shot weapon systems.
“Take your pick from the haywire havoc of an Ancestor’s vengeance warhead, the tank-busting power of a mountain breaker warhead, or an infantry-shredding Kin’s wrath warhead.”
And finally, we get a look inside the driver seat of the Hekaton as well.
It’s neat to see how the Hearthkyn driver sits with their Ironkin co-pilot.
Will this Hekaton be the next big thing on the battlefield? I’m not sure — but I know that it will be a very big thing on the tabletop!
What do you think of the Hekaton Land Fortress kit?
