Warhammer 40K Meta Hotness: Sagittarum Custodians
Man it was a good week for the Custodes player so let’s look at the current “best” troop choice for the Golden boys – Sagittarum Custodians.
These guys are gold, have a decent gun with a delicious damage profile, and even have a power weapon that can stab fools that get to close. These guys do it all. Yes it is a Forge World upgrade sprue but it is probably the cheapest option you can buy from them. Especially since you can easily combine up a few Custodes boxes and get all the troops your little golden heart needs.
Sagittarum Custodians Basics
These guys are still Adeptus Custodes so they have the sweet profile of 3 wounds, a 4+ save, and decent amount of attacks. You throw in the gun they have – a special combi like weapon that shoots a tough beam/bullet that hits at Strength 5, Ap-3, and Dam 3 on top of having a Heavy bolter like profile as well. Heck they even get their Misericordia for free making this a very nice troop choice at 150pts for 9 toughness 5 wounds sitting on a 2+ armor save. You throw them in cover and just watch how an opponent can squirm to try and dig these golden jerks out of the weeds they are hiding in.
Pain in the Butt
You need troops to win and these guys are perfect for Custodes. They are cheap and can effectively damage things. They are no slouches in combat either and can easily set up the backbone of a Custodes army as the rest of your dreadnoughts and bikes do your dirty work. Trajann loves hanging out with these guys. He can be the combat bad ass as his gun bros throw out some damage.

Sagittarum Custodians Thoughts
The Golden boys are not dead and the Sagittarum are an important part of making the army work. Just like the other armies that run a ton of 3 wound plastic (or resin) dudesmen – Custodes love them too. Look for this army to show up more. Especially now that the Balance Dataslate tweaked some things. It isn’t too big and seems easy enough to pilot to the winners circle.
