‘Warhammer 40K: Shootas, Blood, & Teef’ is Tons of Orkish Fun
You can take your grand strategy and zog off. Shootas, Blood & Teef is the exact kind of Warhammer game I’ve been wanting.
Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef is a new side-scrolling shooter currently released on PC, and coming to consoles very soon. Think Metal Slug, but with more dakka dakka!
Shootas, Blood & Teef sets you on a side-scrolling adventure to rescue your stolen hair squig from Warboss Ogruk Gutrekka. Then, you’ll battle Humans, Orks, and Genestealers on your journey through the planet of Luteus Alpha.
The hand-drawn art style gives a really fun and unique quality to the game’s visuals. Harkening back to flash games like Castle Crashers and Alien Hominid. Some like it, some don’t. But, if you hung out on Newgrounds as much as I did, the visuals are absolutely a huge plus.
Four different character classes offer unique playstyles and kits keeping true to the Warhammer lore. A huge selection of weapons gives options on how to engage the enemy and know what’s right to use at the moment.
As you play through the story, you’ll earn Teef. Then, you can turn them over to your friendly local mekboy which can be exchanged for the most precious of gaming resources: Hats! As a long-time Team Fortress 2 player, they know how to keep me playing.
Online and Couch Co-Op & PvP
Shootas, Blood & Teef offers online or couch co-op as well as the standard single-player mode. But, considering these are some ‘ard boyz, you can also go head to head online or local PvP as well.
To top it all off, the soundtrack absolutely rips. Thrashing heavy metal tracks perfectly match the tone and theme of the game.
Admittedly, the campaign is pretty short and can be beaten in just a few hours. And despite my earlier claims that most games are too long, I think Shootas, Blood & Teef might be a little too little gameplay for the price. So, if that’s an issue, wait for it to go on sale. But this is definitely a game to keep on your wishlist.
