Warhammer 40K: The Leagues of Votann Shadow Still Looms – Where Are These Kits?
So the Leagues of Votann Army Box came out…but where’s the rest of the releases?
I may be jumping the gun a bit here but I’m starting to wonder when the rest of the Leagues of Votann releases are going to land. The Codex Road Map that Games Workshop released had the Leagues of Votann dropping in Autumn. And the Army has already come and gone — and we’re already getting Astra Militarum teasers now.
The Army Box was the first chance to get your hands on the Codex for the Leagues of Votann as well. Players who missed that kind of need the book to be released so they can start planning and getting an army list together. So, again, like the title says, “Where are these kits?”
Honestly I was expecting the Army Set to come out and then in a week we’d see more releases. But it’s been over a month since we did our unboxing of the Boxed Set and …nothing?
It’s a brand new army and, yeah, the initial buzz was that they might be a *tad* too strong. But it’s the return of the Squats! People were hyped about it. Why not strike while the iron’s hot, right? Look, I’m not going to pretend to understand the GW release schedule or plan. I just know that I, personally, was expecting to see the actual kits come out a lot sooner for the Leagues of Votann. And perhaps more importantly the standard edition of the Codex.
Even if GW announces a Leagues of Votann release wave on Sunday (which they very well might) that still means the kits are another week away from being released. Those are Pre-order announcements afterall. And I’m still wondering if it’s going to be a slow trickle of releases with one or two kits and maybe the codex or if it’s going to be a full blast of everything all at once.
There’s a LOT of kits out there that need to get their full release and I understand that this roll out sort of mirrors the Adepta Sororitas. But that was also a painfully slow release and I’m wondering if the Leagues of Votann are going to suffer overall because of this rollout. Then again, they got nerfed before they even arrived, so I guess there had to be some interest in folks playing (or threatening to play) them.
At the end of the day I know the Leagues are going to eventually get their full line of stuff released. I just thought it would be a lot faster. Then again, it took GW how long to redo the Squats? I guess waiting a bit longer isn’t the end of the world.
Can we at least get a codex release date, GW? Pretty please?
