Warhammer Next Week: Leagues Of Votann Roll Out
Leagues of Votann arrive in force next week. Everyone’s favorite space dwarves enhanced by magic computers are here!
Alright the computers aren’t necessarily magic. But they did shepherd the evolution of space dwarves. They all just happen to sound vaguely Norse, but that’s because the computers think vikings are cool.
At any rate, the Leagues of Votann are here. These power-armored technovikings are ready to roll out.
Leagues of Votann
The Leagues of Votann are here and the most important thing you’ll need is the new Codex. This has everything you need to play these space dwarves to their fullest. Lore, data sheets, stratagems, it’s got it all.
But alongside the codex, an absolute cavalcade of miniatures. First up the big Combat Patrol, your best jumping off point for getting started with the Leagues of Votann.
Inside you’ll find: one Kâhl – buildable as special character Ûthar the Destined – plus 10 Hearthkyn Warriors, three Hernkyn Pioneers and five Cthonian Beserks.
Want to pick them up individually? You can.
Uthar/Khal has a fantastic leader.
And however you decide to build them, you’ll have a head for your kinhosts.
The Grimnyr are “Living Ancestors”. They specialize in using barrier technology to manipulate the Warp, so they can use psychic powers but they do it with machines. Surely nothing can go wrong there.
The Einhyr use rocket-boosted exo-armour to strike hard and fast across the battlefield. High-tech assault dwarves, what else do you need?
The Brokhyr are the craters and expert techs of the Kin. And Iron-masters are the absolute best. They come onto the battlefield aided by Ironkyn and E-COG repair crews.
But they also wield the heaviest weapons. Brokhyr excel at using the deadliest, beefiest guns in the arsenal.
The Hearthkyn form the Leagues of Votann’s battlelines. They wear void armor, wield bolters, and are what you need to hold objectives.
And finally we have the Cthonian Berserks, because they wouldn’t be dwarves if they didn’t have shirtless angry berserkers baring way more skin than you’d think was healthy on a battlefield.
Vehicles of Votann
But for all that their troops are cool, the vehicles of Votann give them some wonderful toys:
Speed into battle with the Hernkyn Pioneers. These grav-bikes are equipped with an array of powerful weapons that can get where you need them on the battlefield.
The Sagitaur ATV on the other hand is an armored transport that can carry up to five soldiers. So you might want to bring a few of these with you.
Or pack everyone into a Hekaton Land Fortress.
The toughest obstacles require a vehicle of tremendous power to break through, and the Hekaton Land Fortress serves with distinction. Festooned with weapons and capable of carrying a large number of troops, this impressive battle tank is a fearsome asset on the battlefield, dealing damage and soaking up punishment in equal measure.
