Warhammer Underworlds: Roadmap Reveal
Games Workshop has dropped a new Roadmap for Warhammer Underworlds and now we know what the future holds for the game.
Warhammer Underworlds: Gnarlwood is coming to pre-order this weekend and with that timing in mind Game Workshop has decided to drop a Roadmap for the game as well.
“Warhammer Underworlds is heading to the twisting caverns below the Gnarlwood for a new season and a new core set. A new season means fresh rules, more warbands, more Rivals decks, and much else besides as the conflict comes to Ghur.”
To kick things off, we know this month sees the release of Gnarlwood and the two Rivals decks. That’s not a huge surprise. However, beyond that, we’re going to see two new Warbands (one in December and one in February) along with Rivals Decks and then a new season after that.
But now we get into the fun part — what can we glean about these new Warbands?
The one coming in December is probably the easiest to identify. Those twin moons are very reminiscent of the Gloomspite Gitz and their Bad Moon worshiping tendencies.
It won’t be the first Gloomspite Warband (if it turns out to be one). But it will be interesting to see which direction GW takes this new crew of Gitz.
The second warband is a bit more of a challenge.
I think this one looks like either a Death or more likely Chaos warband. It’s hard to tell if that’s a skull with horns or a mask — I’m leaning towards mask. The question is what subfaction though? My first guess is a Be’lakor subfaction of Chaos, so a “First Prince” warband.
Come to think of it, I don’t know if we’ve seen a “daemon” warband yet in Warhammer Underworlds. The closest we’ve had was probably the Eyes of the Nine which had a couple of Tzeentch Horrors. We also had Magore’s Fiends which had a Flesh Hound of Khorne. Oh and the Dread Pageant also had a Slaangor.
But again, we haven’t had an “all daemon” warband. So that would be kind of neat. But hey, it’s a new Warband — what do you think it could be?
Warhammer Underworlds has more goodies coming it’s a game that continues to grow and grow!
