The Dreaming and the Endless will see a second season on Netflix – Neil Gaiman’s Sandman is a go for season 2.

Finally! Sandman season 2 has gone from dream to reality. Fans of the series rejoice! After a delighted fan reception and critical acclaim, the Netflix series based on Neil Gaiman’s iconic comic book will be back for the next installment of Dream’s story.

Sandman Season 2 Announcement Drama

Earlier yesterday, several conflicting reports popped up announcing the potential greenlight for another season of the hit show. A prior accidental leak on DC Comics’ Twitter page made it all but certain – except for the cancellation rumors that were floating around beforehand.

Today, Deadline published an exclusive report that Sandman was indeed back for a season 2. It’s been a ride. We’re thrilled we’ve arrived. Now Netflix, Neil Gaiman, and the official Sandman account all tweeted out confirmation that the Dreaming will return. It’s happening!

Sandman Netflix Profile Icons

The platform also added Sandman profile icons. Now you can separate your accounts using Death, Dream, Desire, Lucienne, Lucifer, Johanna, Matthew the raven, and, of course, the little gold dragon Irving.

The Next Chapters of The Sandman

As if fans weren’t delighted enough by the incredibly faithful adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s graphic novels! We got two bonus stories! From Dream Country, we meet his former lover and mother to his son, the muse Calliope. And we also got the beloved short story about a wandering cat asking every cat she meets to dream of a world run by cats.

Could the tale of A Midsummer Night’s Dream be next? I can’t wait to see the show’s interpretation and casting of the fairies.

OH, AND THEN IT’S TIME FOR SEASONS OF MIST.

If you’ve read the graphic novel series, you know what’s coming up. Highlight the rest of this paragraph for spoilers. The story of Lucifer leaving Hell is my favorite book in the series. It also leaves room for Gwendolyn Christie to get a spin-off series. No disrespect to Tom Ellis, who is a Lucifer I enjoy, but this is the Lucifer I asked for.

Give it to me now, Netflix.

This seems like an excellent time to rewatch Sandman
