Sandman season 2 is a go, and Neil Gaiman has spoken up about who will play a beloved member of the Endless. Who will play Delirium?

Neil Gaiman is directing actors interested in playing Delirium or Destruction to the show’s casting director. His Twitter has been flooded with potentials from fan pitches to just throwing their own hats in the ring. It’s not an unreasonable thing to go for – Desire actor Mason Alexander Park got their role by asking Neil on Twitter about the role’s casting status.

Whoever wanders away with the title of Delirium, Neil and the rest of the crew are on it. But are there actors we’d love to see take a crack at the role? Of course.

5. Stephanie Hsu

So this is a bit of a reach because Delirium is usually portrayed as looking younger than the rest of the siblings (mid-late teens). But if there’s anyone who’s already proven they can turn chaos into art, it’s Hsu. Her role in Everything Everywhere All at Once was one of the most memorable of the year. I would love to see this performer’s interpretation of Delirium.

4. Maisie Williams

It’s no secret that I love Maisie Williams. From her breakout role as Arya Stark to her appearances in Doctor Who and Pistol, Maisie might seem like an obvious choice because she’s young and can do just about anything. But the actress would undoubtedly leave her mark on the child-like entity that used to be known as Delight.

3. Sophia Lillis

This It actress has proven her ability to hold our attention on-screen. But it’s her role as a teenager who cannot keep their shit together in I am Not Okay with This that makes me curious to see what she could bring to Delirium. The emotional rollercoaster of dealing with weird powers and the genuine likeability that she brings to her characters could be an excellent choice for Sandman.

2. Thomasin McKenzie

You’ll most likely recognize this actress for her roles in Jojo RabbitLast Night in Soho, or Power of the Dog. It’s hard to deny that she’d add a certain gravitas to the presentation of Delirium. She could easily hold a screen alongside Tom Sturridge’s stoney-faced Dream.

1. Sadie Sink

Another gimme? Sure. Sadie has proven she can make any character her own and capture a wide range of emotions. But the role of Delirium is truly unique, and it would be a little different to see Sadie occupy a role of whimsy punched with the occasional intense emotion.
