‘Stranger Things’ Day Brings Season 5 Details, Games, & More
Stranger Things Day was celebrated over the weekend with behind the scenes images and more. Here’s what Netflix revealed about season five!
Stranger Things Day commemorates the day Will Byers first disappeared in 1983. It’s become a celebration for fans and a marketing day for Netflix. Before we jump into what’s up with next season, let’s take a look at the other Stranger Things goodies starting with some goofy and sweet behind-the-scenes photos from last season.
If you’re a Netflix subscriber you just gained access to more user icons to make your profile stand out from the rest of those on your account. There are a ton of characters available – from Argyle to Vecna. The Dead By Daylight rumor didn’t pan out, but they showed off the VR adventure that’s coming next year and the new Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales mobile game you can snag now.
Stranger Things Season 5
The Duffers have said they have a map and an have an ending for the series ready. The writers’ room spun up to flesh all of it out not too long after Stranger Things Season 4 dropped its last episode. The big reveal this weekend was the title of the first episode of next season – “The Crawl.” It doesn’t say a lot, but I’m sure it’ll speak more when we have the full list of episode titles.

What we know: The new season is happening mainly in Hawkins, which the Upside Down has mashed itself into. It’ll also drop right in where we left off – there’s no time to build up, it’s all go all the time. There will only be storm, no calm. The Duffers have mentioned that they’re going to try not to add new characters to the season in order to focus on the original bunch of kids.
“…this is about everyone finally coming back. Coming back together, coming back to Hawkins. Hopper is back in Hawkins. The original group [is] back together—the original group of boys plus Eleven. The OG group. There’s something interesting to re-explore some of the season one dynamics again, except on this grander scale.”
The cast that lived through last season should be returning – Millie Bobby Brown, Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Charlie Heaton, Jamie Campbell Bower, Natalia Dyer, Maya Hawke, Sadie Sink, and Joe Keery.
It’s expected that they’ll start filming early next year. The rest is all theorizing…
