‘Edgerunners’ Mission Kit Brings the Anime to ‘Cyberpunk RED’ the RPG

Good morning Night City! A newly announced starter box from R. Talsorian Games promises a new look at the City of Dreams (and also violence), this time through the lens of the hit series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
Made in conjunction with CD Projekt Red, and using the Cyberpunk RED tabletop RPG, the new Cyberpunk Edgerunners Mission Kit has everything you need to adventure in the Night City of the anime. Here’s what we know so far.
Cyberpunk Edgerunnners Mission Kit
The Cyberpunk Edgerunners Mission Kit runs on the Cyberpunk RED rpg ruleset. Cyberpunk RED is the latest iteration of the original Cyberpunk RPG, going all the way back to the days of 1988. Now, the new starter box has an updated look for even the days of the RED. This feels like the “bridge” between the Night City of 2045 (the time of the Red) and the “now” of Night City in 2077.
According to the release announcement from R. Talsorian Games, the new box will include everything you need to get up to speed on the Edgerunners team:
The box set will include essential rules as well as lore about the Dark Future, Night City, the Edgerunners team, and more!
The Cyberpunk Edgerunners Mission Kit will guide fans of the series new to tabletop roleplaying through the process of telling their own stories in Night City.
Perhaps most exciting, though, for longtime fans of the RPG series, is the first glimpse at how cyberware, guns, and netrunning will work in 2077. After all, netrunning is an entirely different beast in Cyberpunk RED. Unlike the “quick hacks” of 2077, in Cyberpunk RED, your netrunner has to delve into the architecture of data nodes to accomplish anything. There’s no leaping through cameras. Or stunning or incinerating foes through the scope of your sniper rifle.
