Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is kicking off it’s pre-order beta access. If you pre-order the game you’ll get to play starting today!

Well the time of the rejects is almost here. The Darktide pre-orders are about to pay off with access to another round of beta play. If you pre-ordered the game already or if you’ve been waiting, starting today through the 29th of November you’ll get to participate in the beta.

If you are unfamiliar with the game, we had some first impressions with the Closed Beta. Overall, it’s an enjoyable co-op survival looter-shooter. If you’ve ever player Vermintide I or II then you’re going to be pretty familiar with the systems within the game. Here’s a quick look at some of the gameplay if you’re still not sure what any of that means:

“On the world of Atoma Prime, the great Hive Tertium is in the thrall of foul corruptive forces, and a tide of bloodthirsty Chaos-worshipping rebels now threaten to engulf the vital city. Fortunately, the Inquisition has a plan – gather up squads of unwanted, outcast Rejects from all over the Imperium and throw them at the problem in a display of gloriously violent excess. “

Here’s the official run down for participation:

“To participate, you just need to pre-order the game on Steam or the Microsoft Windows store. The beta runs between the 17th and the 29th of November, and will provide vital feedback for the busy acolytes at Fatshark ahead of the full release. “

Oh and if you are worried about a full progress wipe after the beta (as is most often the case) that’s not entirely true in this case…

“Even as a Reject of the Imperium, your duty does not end. Fatshark is hoping to allow elements of progression to carry over from the Beta, so your time spent clearing the stain of Chaos from the depths of the hive will not go unnoticed.

That’s actually a nice little bonus for beta players. As for what those elements are, well, that’s the vague part. Maybe certain unlocks or skins will be granted to beta players. I honestly have no idea. Being a mostly co-op game it’s typically not a bad idea to let the players feel a *tad* overpowered fighting waves of goons. But I have no clue how Fatshark is going to roll that together. But speaking of extra skins…

“If you’ve partaken in bouts of Skaven slaughtering in Vermintide or Vermintide 2, and you own either game on Steam, you’ll also qualify for the Devoted Rejects pack if you pre-order Darktide on the same platform – Emperor be praised! “

That’s a nice nod to players from the previous releases! It’s a skin/cosmetic pack inspired by the “Ubersreik Five” as you can see from above. Nice touch.

The full release kicks off on November the 30th. So gather up a few friends or make some new ones and go delve in to the Darktide — for the Emperor, of course!

Now…which class should I tackle this run with…
