Build Your Own Mandalorian Amban Phase-Pulse Blaster Over the Holiday Break
Build the iconic Amban Phase-Pulse Blaster from The Mandalorian this holiday break with this easy-to-follow tutorial!
Mando’s rifle was one of the first things we got to see in the series, thanks to a behind-the-scenes photo. The Amban phase-pulse blaster was initially seen in Star Wars Holiday Special. It’s a medium-range weapon built to take down large creatures and enemies. Boba Fett used it to save Luke Skywalker from a Panna Dragon in the animated segment of the special. Jon Favreau brought it to live action, and it quickly became one of the coolest weapons in the Star Wars armory.
Build Your Own Amban Phase-Pulse Blaster
Want one for yourself? This take on the bounty hunter’s long-range weapon is made of materials you can pick up at your local hardware store. Bonus: you’ll be able to finish it by the time the new year rolls around (if you’ve lost track of time like most of us have, that’s ten days from now).
I like Odin Makes because he showcases projects that aren’t daunting, are affordable, and don’t require an insane amount of specialty power tools. This recreation is made of insulation foam, PVC pipes, plasticard, epoxy, and paint (there’s a complete list over on YouTube).
Your DIY terrain-building skills will come in handy for the construction. And if you can meet the five-color painting requirement for a wargaming tournament, you can make the stock and metal on your blaster look great. You don’t need to be an expert cosplayer to build this. It could be a great project to do with kids, too.
