Get ready to go for the eyes, Minsc & Boo join Baldur’s Gate 3 along with an official release date. August 2023 can’t come fast enough.

It’s hard to imagine, but there was once a time in Dungeons & Dragons history before a proto-himbo Rasehmi Ranger came crashing onto the scene, with his tattooed head and flashing sword ready to meet evil. The Ranger Minsc might have told his miniature giant space hamster, Boo, to go for the eyes, but the duo went right to our hearts.

But since the dynamic duo was introduced in the original Baldur’s Gate, the pair have gone on to become a part of D&D’s official legendarium. They’ve appeared in their own comics. Stolen the show of an expansion set for Magic: the Gathering. They’ve even authored their own D&D Book: Minsc and Boo’s Journal of Villainy.

You’d be surprised at how good this book is

So much so that you could almost forget that Baldur’s Gate was what started it all for them. The heart and soul (and voice of Jim Cummings, let’s not forget that one of the big reasons this character lives on is the larger-than-life personality Cummings breathed into Minsc) of Baldur’s Gate are back for the sequel.

Along with an official release date. We got to see both in the official Game Awards trailer. Take a look.

Baldur’s Gate 3 – Release Date AND Minsc & Boo, In THIS Economy? That’s Basically Free Real Estate

With an official release in August 2023, we get a new look at the story. The Cult of the Absolute, epic sprawling vistas. And that incredible soundtrack. All of which players have gotten to explore in Act 1. But there’s so much more awaiting players than what we’ve seen in early access! Including an owlbear transformation!

And a showdown with a Red Dragon. But the most welcome sight of all is everyone’s favorite Ranger punching his way out of the inside of a Mimic.
