Ghostface is Back in Action in Tense ‘Scream 6’ Trailer
The iconic horror franchise moves from Woodsboro, California to New York City in Scream 6. In a city of millions, no one hears you scream.
In an effort to trying to gain distance between themselves at the terror they endured, the survivors of the last massacre leave the small town behind. The first look reveals that the plan doesn’t work out. They’re confrtoned with Ghostface again – in a city of millions of potential suspects and plenty of places to die.
Familiar Faces
The core cast that made it out alive of the last Scream movie are back – including the only original cast member returning, Courtney Cox. Scream 6 will be the first movie in the franchise that doesn’t include Sydney Prescott. After 25 years of playing the character, Neve Campbell bowed out after a salary dispute. The next generatrion is taking up the fight, which is not a bad thing at all.
Jenna Ortega told Entertianment Tonight that even though fans won’t see her on screen, Sydney is part of this movie.
“It’s very clear, there’s references to Sidney, of course. You know, it’s nice because there’s still a protectiveness in the script. That’s something that the actors had naturally over her because obviously we respect her and we want the best for her. She’s missed and thought of. I feel like I can’t really speak too much on that just because it’s not necessarily my character. But I will say there’s so much going on in this next one, that it’s so action-heavy and so gore-heavy that I think you’re going to be distracted almost.”
Scream 6 Details
The studio is tight lipped about the plot, which I appreciate, beyond this one line synopsis:
“The Scream saga continues with the four survivors of the Ghostface killings as they leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter.”
Melissa Barrera (as Sam Carpenter), Jasmin Savoy Brown (Mindy Meeks-Martin), Mason Gooding (Chad Meeks-Martin), Jenna Ortega (Tara Carpenter), Hayden Panettiere (Kirby Reed) and Courteney Cox (Gale Weathers) return to their roles in the franchise. Alongside them are newcomers Jack Champion, Henry Czerny, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Devyn Nekoda, Tony Revolori, Josh Segarra, and Samara Weaving (who was fantastic in Ready or Not).
Scream 6 hits theaters March 10th.
