Goatboy’s 40K Grimdark List: Preachers of Khorne
Goatboy here and I thought why not try to get a 40K Khorne Preacher list built. TESTIFY!
My idea is a bunch of crazy skull loving fanatics. You could use some of the AoS kit options to create a really unique list of crazy hobby madness! This idea of a wave of red armor that isn’t just World Eaters – but utilizes the true batch of Chaos Space Marine stuff. So far it doesn’t look like Dark Apostles are in the new World Eaters so the only true prayer group army we have would have to be CSM and the Word Bearers.
Obviously with that in mind we want to start with 3 Dark Apostles and how we would set them up. I really want to look at Word Bearers as their rules help make them better in Assault and they are some of the best “priests” around the block with a lot of cool options. We could go with tooled up Priests of beat down or look at some way to generate a Flock and let them do all the dirty work. I like the idea of a Flock so will go with that.
I won’t do a Terminator blob right now as while they are amazing not having a Psychic option does leave them a bit stranded. This makes me think the investment of creating a powerful Possessed unit might do better for this type of army. These guys can be surrounded by Chosen members of the flock to build up this batch of nonsense and give the army some extra punch. I also think looking at Biker unit as a batch of roaming brothers of the skull might make for an interesting wave of desctruction.

Preaching to the Choir
The idea with this list is you have a bunch of ways to boost up your flock with prayers. You try to get to the middle so you can wrack up some Secondary points as your army runs around the table trying to bring the true meaning of Khorne to the masses. I always though the Accursed are almost there too and felt they might be cool as mutated Cultists who love to get angry. Hey, I think I finally found a use for those models!
