‘The Boys’ Spin-Off Goes to School in Violent ‘Gen V’ First Look
The first look at Gen V – the spin-off series set at Vought’s superhero school – is here, and they are not holding back.
This is like no college you’ve ever seen – Young supes attend Godolkin University to prepare them for the Vought pipeline and possible membership in The Seven. Don’t expect a cookie cutter of the original. The spin-off might be more bloody than the flagship show and will have its own twist, according to Kripke:
“Much like Mork & Mindy spun-off from Happy Days—which is an insane and true fact—our spinoff will exist in the Vought Cinematic Universe, yet have a tone and style all its own. It’s our take on a college show, with an ensemble of fascinating, complicated, and sometimes deadly Young Supes. Michele and Tara are stone-cold geniuses. We love this show and can’t wait for you to see it.”
We got a look at what young supes do to get into The Seven and other supe teams during Season 3. The scripted ‘reality’ TV and backstabbing are just the start. Gen V is gory.
Uh… Okay.
Gen V Cast & Details
Set at America’s only college exclusively for young-adult superheroes (run by Vought International), Gen V is an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities. It’s part college show, part Hunger Games—with all the heart, satire, and raunch of The Boys.
The new generation of supes includes Patrick Schwarzenegger as Golden Boy and Sean Patrick Thomas as Polarity. The rest of the cast hasn’t been linked to characters. Those folks include Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, and Maddie Phillips. Plus London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, and Shelley Conn.
Gen V arrives on Prime Video in 2023.
