‘The Pale Blue Eye’ Trailer – Christian Bale Teams with Edgar Allen Poe in Gothic Mystery
In The Pale Blue Eye, a bone-weary detective pairs up with a young Edgar Allen Poe to solve a gruesome murder. Check out the latest trailer for the gothic whodunit.
A West Point cadet is found dead just outside the academy during the early hours of a winter day. The young man’s heart has been removed with surgical precision. A murder investigation is launched immediately, and local detective August Landor is put on the case. The operation must stay hushed to protect the military academy’s reputation.
When Landor finds it challenging to get the other cadets to talk, he teams up with an eccentric young man who has more interest in writing than military duty. His name is Edgar Allen Poe.
The Pale Blue Eye is based on the fiction novel by Louis Bayard. It uses bits of truth to explain why Poe went on to write the horrors he did. The movie will tell three connected stories – a period piece, a whodunnit, and a mentor story. These two men are brought together by murder and find a new purpose in solving the crime.
