Adam got to take the new guard for a spin and we talk about his list, plus everything that happened at PAX Unplugged over the weekend.

Adam got to take the new guard for a spin and we talk about his list. Cadian and Catachan, ha! Its still early days as some of the new models aren’t out yet and we don’t know when that’s happening but it is cool to get some of the new mechanics on the table.

It’s hard not to take Born Soldiers as your army trait for the new Astra Militarum and that’s where Adam starts as well.  The automatic wound on 6’s to hit seems pretty punishing when combined to the staggering rate of fire for most of this army. The army seemed to preform well against one of the meta’s big contenders – Daemons.  That is sort of what we might expect since volume of fire is what it takes to pound through the Daemonic Save.  It sounds like he comes up with a cool tip for Ogryn as well.

We also talk about Pax Unplugged and give a recap of the Games Workshop presence there. Paul demoed Blood Bowl over the past weekend and had a blast.  Its so cool showing this game to folks who haven’t heard of or seen it before.  The game has truly stood the test of time and not lost one bit of it’s charm.  Pax Unplugged is much more of a board game show than it is a tabletop mini convention but there is a ton of overlap between the fans.
