Warhammer 40K Meta Hotness: Cthonian Berserks
Cthonian Berserks seem like a pretty tough unit and one of the many layers the Leagues of Votann can bring to the table. They also can fit in the cute little tiny vehicle to get a chance to move up the table a bit faster.
These guys are like amp’d up Repentia with a flat 3 damage attack, an extra wound, FNP, a sweet vehicle they can ride in, and they can fight on death. Little tiny murder engines of death ready to take all the candy you got in your bucket and then eat all the chips in your cupboard. They are some of the ultimate bearded plastic jerks who get all the fancy rules their bothers have – without wearing any shirts.
Chtonian Berserks 101
These guys like to fight because they are super mad. They are amp’d up on 4 Loko’s and ready to run out of their little transport vehicle to punch you with the Maul/Hammer things until you are paste. You utilize these guys as multi layered hammers to hurt your foe as the rest of the army gets into positions and beams you to death. They hit hard, and can counter attack hard. Chtonian Berserks are a pain to remove with their layers of “protection” from a codex that seems to have everything needed to compete.
Under Pressure
These guys don’t take up much space in any of the transport vehicles so they can easily double up in a ride, jump out, and get to work hammering down the nails that are their enemies units. Each bunch can tear thru some of the “tougher” options in people’s armies as 3 Wounds seems to be one of the key factors in staying alive in this current meta of murderball we call 40k.

Flat Damage 3!
A unit of flat Damage 3 weapons is huge as they are always a threat to most things. If you ignore a wound it still hits you with 2 which is huge. Everyone is afraid as they squish Flamers, Possessed, Terminators, and any other jerk flat with each of their hits. You throw a few rerolls on them and they will just go to town on any unit they get near.

The army got nerfed before it came out and it is still deadly. I think as the game continues on and people get used to the army it won’t win nearly as much – but until them be scared of these Cthonian Berserks and all the other Space Dwarves that will show up covered in contrast paint.
