Age of Sigmar: Gloomspite Gitz Battletome Update Brings An Even Badder Moon
If you thought the Bad Moon was uh…Bad before then prepare for a new dawn nightfall of Bad Moon terror! Oh and fungus.
The Gloomspite Gitz are getting a new Battletome and it’s got some new tricks mixed in. This could be the start of a new Grot revolution. Or a fungal outbreak. Maybe the Squig-pocolypse? I’m not sure what to call it other than Bad Moon Time.
“The Bad Moon’s light suffuses the grot tribes with lunatic power – and while its wanderings remain inscrutable to astrologers of the realms, Gloomspite players will be happy to hear that the new battletome makes it much simpler to track the Bad Moon’s passage over the battlefield. “
Gloomspite Gitz Battletome Previews
You might recall the “noble” Skragrott the Loonking and his potent Bad Moon infused powers. Well, he’s getting an upgrade with an update on Fangz of da Bad Moon:
This is a spell that has some potential. Because the damage is based on the casting roll and the subsequent 3+ rolls, you could really pump out a number of mortal wounds. Even if you’re rolling average it’s still 3-4 mortal wounds. But if you get lucky and spike that number you could drop a hero or finish off a unit. And the range is a 24″ so you can do that from a fairly safe distance.
Squigs got a big upgrade. One of the issues Squigs had was their random movement. Well, that’s shifting to a more reliable d6+10″ move. That might not have quite the same movement at the very top end, but being able to count on your squigs to go at least 11″ a turn is very helpful!
Furthermore, Squigbosses found some new treats for the Squigs. You’ve got the option to make them move even further with Crimson Deffcaps or you can let them get some extra attacks with Sproutin’ Moon treats. This unit just got a big support boost in my book!
Troggoths are about to become a serious problem for the enemy, too. For starters, Rockgut and Fellwater Troggoths got a boost on their save characteristics. Their iconic Regeneration is also automatic and fires off in every hero phase! That means your enemy’s turn, too. Troggbosses get D6 wounds instead of just D3!
I have a feeling the Troggs might be a (not so subtle) surprise hit in this new battletome. And there’s more. Lot’s more. Here’s the last teaser from GW:
Yeah…it sounds like whatever creepy crawlies you want to run (or were running before) will be even more potent in the new book. The Bad Moon is rising…
What do you see? ‘Cause I see a bad moon on the rise.
