Games Workshop’s latest Battlescroll is keeping the meta fresh with a slew of points changes. Time to find out if your army got impacted.

There’s a new Metawatch out today that covers the ins-and-outs of the upcoming change with season 2 of the General’s Handbook. Plus there’s a new Battlescroll that has point changes for just about every faction in the game. Age of Sigmar players need to get in there to find out what’s new with their armies!

Matt Rose, Design Lead: This season shifts the focus away from massed infantry and towards the footslogging heroes of Ghur, so the Warhammer Design Studio is expecting considerable changes in the meta over the coming months. This provides a good opportunity for us to take a closer look at internal balance while we wait for the dust to settle.

If you were curious about how GW comes up with the points changes and the process behind that here’s a nice little snippet behind the curtain:

It’s good to know that GW does collect feedback from both internal and external playtesting. A common complaint among players is how Warhammer needs more playtesting. In reality you can never have enough playtesting…eventually you just have to ship it, collect feedback, and make adjustments.

Now that we’ve had a peek behind the curtain, here’s the results of all that data crunching:

Battlescroll Points Changes

There is one caveat about these new Battlescroll Points Changes and that is the Gloomspite Gitz, Beasts of Chaos, and Slaves to Darkness all have incoming battletomes so there points may not have been altered all that much. But every other faction got shifts. It’s also worth noting that point values have been rounded off to the nearest “10s” spot to make list building a little easier. There’s lots of “+5” or “-5” changes.

Regardless of what faction you play you’re going to want to open up that document and take a look to see if your army got any major changes. We’re not going to cover all those point shifts here. However, we will cover one change in the rules portion as it was the only shift:

The Daughters of Khaine did lose out on some of their ways to score some bonus VPs. Everyone else seems to have dodged and additional nerfs.

What do you think of these changes? Any major points shifts you didn’t expect?
