Gripping Beast make a lot of cool-looking plastic miniatures for historicals, and I’ve finally gotten my hands on some of them. You can use these Viking archers for SAGA or any game you’d like.

SAGA Miniatures Review

These figures are quick and easy to build. In many cases, they are literally three parts per figure. Here is a quick look at the sprue. Pretty simple and quick to build.

These figures come in packs of 12, and here is what they look like once constructed.[/caption]

All twelve of the built figures. If you play Saga, these count as one point. Armies are generally made of 4 to 6 points worth of miniatures. You can use them for many different SAGA Viking Age Armies. They look fairly good for quick-to-build minis.

If you wonder about their sizing, below is a scale comparison image. The unpainted minis are the Gripping Beast Archers. Left to right, the other figures are a Frostgrave Cultist, a Mantic Games Zombie, and a Frostgrave Barbarian.

Gripping Beast’s SAGA

While these minis are new to me, they have been around for a while. Gripping Beast has a whole line of miniatures for their game SAGA for many different ages. SAGA consists of a single rule book, and then you buy a book for the Age or Era that you want to play. Each book contains all of the armies of that “age.” I have three of them. Not pictured is my Vikings book.

Wrapping it up…

Thank you for joining me in my quick first look at miniatures for the game SAGA. I plan to look at other miniatures of theirs in the future. If you have tried SAGA miniatures, let us know what you think of them in the comments below.

Until next time, Happy Gaming, Everyone!!!
