‘Worlds Beyond Number’ – A Brand New Tabletop RPG Podcast With an All-Star Cast
Worlds Beyond Number is a new tabletop RPG podcast featuring some of your favorite people from the world of tabletop roleplaying games.
Announced via a mysterious website shortly before the new year rang in, Worlds Beyond Number — not to be mistaken for Worlds Without Number, a tabletop game of fantasy adventure — is an upcoming new “narrative-play, audio fiction multiverse” from some of your favorite tabletop streamers.
Specifically Brennan Lee Mulligan, Erika Ishii, Aabria Iyengar, and Lou Wilson:
All of whom have appeared in various tabletop games together, from the various seasons of Dimension 20, to official games for D&D Beyond, and even Critical Role’s Exandria Unlimited series. The four performers, and podcast designer Taylor Moore of Fortunate Horse, have big (if vague) goals in store.
Worlds Beyond Number – Coming March 2023
“Worlds Beyond Number is an independent, creator-owned podcast about playing games and making up stories with your friends. Across genres, across worlds, from immersive, years-long cinematic epics to wild, chaotic one-shots, the possibilities are…hmm, trying to think of a phrase that communicates a very high amount…not thinking of anything, oh wait here we go…a lot. The possibilities are a lot.”
As this is a creator-owned podcast, that means the rails (such as they were) can be all the way off. Though, if you’re familiar with Ishii, Iyengar, Mulligan, and Wilson already, you doubtless know they were never completely there in the first place. Many are excited about the project, though details are sparse at the moment.
More information about Worlds Beyond Number awaits in the coming weeks though. Throughout January, the creators will reveal a new detail about the show, as well as a glimpse of revelations to come. Next week’s reveal, for instance, is the title of the show’s first campaign.
Then in February, Worlds Beyond Number will open a Patreon with early access for supporters allowing them to hear the episode a week ahead of the March 1st launch date.
So stay tuned!
