‘GigaBash’s Kaiju Will Be Smashing Thier Way Onto New Platforms
The Kaiju smash hit GigaBash video game is soon to be available on exciting new platforms thanks to developers.
GigaBash is an arena-fighting Kaiju brawler with original characters like Godzilla, Ultraman, Super Sentai, and more. Developed by Passion Republic Games, it’s a fantastic game for anyone who is a fan of games like War of the Monsters and Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee. The base game sports a pretty fun story mode, local & online multiplayer, and plenty of unlockable content to make the game last. We loved it so much, we dubbed it one of the best underdog video games of last year.
The game eventually got a Godzilla DLC pack in December adding Godzilla, MechaGodzilla 3, Gigan, and Destoroyah to the game for even more Kaiju action. The game itself has only been available on PC, PS4, and PS5 since its launch in August. Well for those hoping it would be available for more systems just got some great news.
The Kaiju Are Coming to GigaBash
The developers released an announcement on their Twitter account to let everyone know that GigaBash is coming to both Nintendo Switch and Xbox consoles:
A quick announcement, we’re porting #GigaBash to Nintendo Switch™ & Xbox! It’s harder than it sounds tho… please give us a bit of time! 🙇🙇♀️

The developers have been working on getting the game onto the other consoles for some time now. A lot of people tend to think it’s just a switch to make it work on each platform. Unfortunately, every system works differently and coding needs to be tweaked to ensure it works without losing content. There’s no word on a release date or pricing for the new ports. Also, we don’t know if the Godzilla DLC will be released together with the new releases, sold separately like it is now, or if it’ll be sold for the ports.
The developers are focused on getting the ports to the Switch and Xbox consoles before looking into the idea of more DLC packs. The most exciting detail is that they’re open to other IPs letting them use their characters. Devs also appear to be listening to fan suggestions. Hopefully, the game does well once it releases on the other consoles and we get even more content. I especially would love to see new story modes added.
Last Year Was a Good Year for Kaiju
Last year saw a huge jump in Kaiju-related games thanks to releases like Dawn of the Monsters, Ultra Kaiju Monster Rancher, and Kaiju Wars. GigaBash is the best of them. It’s such a wonderful game to just sit down and play a match or two. It’s really cool that the game will be portable on the Nintendo Switch. I’m excited for more people to be able to play it on Xbox consoles as well.
GigaBash and the Godzilla: 4 Kaiju Pack is available on PC, PS4, and PS5.
Let us know if you will get the game now that it will be on other consoles and what type of content you’d love to see added to the game in the future.
