Goatboy’s Grimdark Armylist – 30 Possessed Red Corsairs!
Goatboy here and I’m back with a CSM Possessed Red Corsairs list that slices and dices across the tabletop.
We all know I had some nice luck with my Creations of Bile list with 30 Possessed. With the new Arks of Omen and dataslate changes that least feels like it should really shift from Creations and finally go back to what it was painted as – Red Corsairs. I have my reasons but I want to chat a bit about it before I present my initial thoughts.
Interestingly enough a lot of this idea will end up moving into World Eaters when I get a chance to start on them. If you haven’t figured out my army style it is all about pushing into your business and making you make mistakes. Also – killing your models too. I am just an aggressive player.
I am looking at a Red Corsairs army with a Daemon Patrol to help shore up some secondary options. The version for World Eaters would be Khorne obviously but I keep thinking a Tzeentch grouping with Screamers to help lock in Behind Enemy Lines might be the special sauce I need to get this list working. Let’s start building with Arks of Omen detachment – aka Screw your Troops give me my Toys!

Red Corsairs Tactics
This is a pretty simple pressure list with almost the entire army able to advance and do something. From the Master of Possession going for a +2 to cast with Venomcrawler+Relic, all the Possessed hauling butt, and the 3 Lord Discos coming to take their candy. The Flamers of Tzeentch are also another fast choice as well as the Screamers allowing me show up in their deployment zones for that tasty Behind Enemy Lines points.
Once I get close I should be able to get another unit in range as well to help break out some sweet secondary points. This is just something I want to think about as I look at ways for CSM to change from a tough to move center army to a pressure list. A ton of the game is based on if you can keep your opponent from moving out of their deployment zone. This list is going to come in close and force you to make decisions that you might not always like to do.
I love the idea of all the Bale Flamers lighting up units with the Flamer back up helping out. Plus I still have a random caster that can help do things like Warp Ritual and other fun stuff in those match ups where 12 points is a big help in my secondary mission to win the game.
