These Traitor Esoterist Consuls have a lot of things we find more common in the mainline 40k. These are essentially proto-chaos sorcerers or proto-librarians as we would call them in 40k. The model itself comes with lots of nods to that fact.
We can see the origins of the Psychic Hood that Librarians wear in 40k. Along with the classic robes and artifacts strapped to this model. However, you can clearly tell that this one has a chaos slant on account of the early version of a chaos star on the staff. It’s also got a creepy looking crystal in the middle, too. This time around we also get a sneak at the rules of what one of these Esoterist Consuls can do for your traitors:
That’s a lot of shots coming from this model! Those Void Darts also have a handful of special rules as well. Traitors are also presented as having some more options to summon in some Daemonic allies to the fight as well! The Traitors are learning to harness their warp powers and it’s going to have some deadly results.
