‘Hunter: The Reckoning’s Upcoming Chronicle ‘Lines Drawn in Blood’ Brings ‘Supernatural’ Vibes
Hunter: The Reckoning gets a brand new Chronicle. See why Lines Drawn in Blood promises a very Supernatural time.
New books were revealed at Renegade Con this past weekend! Renegade Games unveiled a brand new book for Hunter: the Reckoning this past weekend. Lines Drawn in Blood is a new Chronicle Book that brings four new adventures to one of my favorite branches of the World of Darkness.
Hunter: the Reckoning, if you’re unfamiliar, is the “what if we played as humans” slice of the WoD. In it, you play as humans who have pierced the veil between the mundane world and the supernatural. And now you can see the monsters lurking in the darkness. And you’re going to do something about it.
It’s a great time. And you don’t even have to be a fan of Sam, Dean, Castiel, and/or slash fic to appreciate it. But Supernatural fans will doubtless appreciate the “occult procedural” nature of the game. Especially in Lines Drawn in Blood, which promises four tales of harrowing encounters with the occult.
According to the reveal, the book will ask the question: “what lines are you willing to cross when you push back against the evil that walks among us?” And in the unfolding four stories, players will encounter ghostly incursions, ancient pacts, murrrrder, and of course, a secret cadre of monsters secretly running the show.
Hunter: the Reckoning – Lines Drawn In Blood
What lines are you willing to cross when you push back against the evil that walks among us? Lines Drawn in Blood presents a series of four stories that can be played individually or linked together to tell an entire chronicle.
-
- Pressure Test: Ghostly incursions are far more than the weight of individual sorrow.
- Outsiders: The residents of a small town break an ancient pact and pay the price.
- Blur the Lines: Occult symbols at a murder scene drag Hunters into a race against time.
- Alone in the Dark: Far from city lights, a nest of monsters pull the strings of a lonely northern town.
The book is up for pre-order now. And during the pre-order window, any order of the physical book comes with a PDF copy at no extra cost. This is dashed convenient if you’re used to RPG books that don’t come readily available in PDF form.
At any rate, reading the description, you can practically hear Kansas playing as your GM summarizes the story so far.
Lines Drawn in Blood will be available in June 2023
