Marvel: Crisis Protocol – Emma Frost Gets Two For The Price of One
Emma Frost is coming to Marvel: Crisis Protocol and she’s got two forms to show-off thanks to Atomic Mass Games’ latest previews.
The telepathic and telekinetic (and all around badass) Emma Frost is coming to the tabletop in miniatures form. She’s also getting a nod to her iconic Diamond form with some special rules for the Hellfire Club alum. Without further ado, let’s see what makes her tick in Marvel: Crisis Protocol!
Emma Frost In Marvel: Crisis Protocol
“While her peers were busy inventing masked identities and dying in shuttle crashes, Emma Frost was already playing a much larger game. Her connections to high society gave her access to a wealth of hidden knowledge, including the existence and nature of the Phoenix Force. As her mutant powers manifested into top-tier telepathy, Emma took it upon herself to attempt to control the dangerous celestial entity. This path brought her into eventual conflict with the X-Men as the battle to save both Jean Grey, and the entire world, from The Phoenix commenced.”
Emma Frost is a psychic powerhouse on the tabletop. She’s got a Psychic Spike attack as her default power generator. It’s also got some extra movement built in if you can get the right results. Defensively, she also has Hands Off which can deny an attacker some follow-up attacks by throwing them “S” distance away. She’s also got some potent psychic defenses. Emma can Shield Mind to help protect herself or an ally with range 4. This can stop forced Advances, Places, or Pushes. No one moves the White Queen’s pawns without her permission!
Additionally, Emma has Telekinetic Deflection which can prevent her from taking damage from a collision. And she’s also got the ability to shut down enemy’s reactions, too — including Reactive Team Tactic Cards!
There ARE Two of Them
You may have noticed one power we skipped over — Diamond Form. And yes, that IS a thing she can do. When attacked, Emma can activate her Diamond Form although it’s not her favorite…
“Emma considers her Diamond Form transformation to be “Far From My Best Look”. She’s eager to transform back once the danger has passed, and after any Activation she starts in Diamond Form ends, she’ll do just that. And it’s not hard to see why. Despite the utility of being made of nigh-indestructible organic diamond, having a Diamond Mind is tough for someone who prides herself on being a telepathic technician. While in Diamond Form, she isn’t able to use any of her telepathic abilities… or play any Team Tactic Cards.”
While in her Diamond Form she’s no slouch though. She doesn’t have the same psychic umph, but she does pack a mean Diamond Strike that can Stun and/or Pierce depending on the results. Emma can also use her Shatter attack for a bigger hit which combos into her being able to turn back to her normal mode, too.
Diamond Form also adds in some extra strength as she can throw a terrain feature size 3 or less “M” distance! And, as befitting the Diamond mode, Her defenses are rock solid. She’s immune to Bleed, Incinerate, Poison, and Stun and has Psychic Immunity, too.
Emma Frost is coming to Marvel: Crisis Protocol soon!
