Matt Mercer is Coming to Dimension 20’s Next Season
The next season of Dimension 20 will host none other than Matt Mercer himself. Can Mercer defeat Emily Axeford?
The streams are crossing again. Last time, it was Brennan Lee Mulligan showing the world that he’s more than just responsible for the most lovable, weird little guys ever in Critical Role’s sandbox. He’s also capable of turning an entire second into just the worst possible moment while everyone eats it up.
Now the DM shoe is on the other foot. As Critical Role’s Matt Mercer will be sitting at the DM’s seat for the next season of Dimension 20. Will Matt Mercer be able to deal with the psychological terror that is Emily Axeford multiclassing or having spells?
Probably not. Nobody can, after all. But here’s what we know about Dimension 20’s newest show!
Matt Mercer DMing for Dimension 20
Details are very sparse at the moment. We know almost nothing, except that the new series begins in May 2023. We don’t know who the cast will be or even necessarily what the setting will be.
The only clues we have at the moment are glimpsed in the shadows of the video. You can see the gothic spires of some fantasy cathedral.
And in the light, you can catch the edge of a rather ornate-looking gauntlet and a censer of some kind on either side of Matt Mercer’s devilish grin.
So gothic architecture, spires, censers. Seems like it could be a good recipe for dark fantasy. After the most recent season, Never After, when the gang at D20 explored fairy tale fantasy, it does seem like the perfect kind of tonal shift. At any rate, May can’t come fast enough. If you haven’t subscribed to Dropout yet, now’s the time to get in early and catch up on the rest of Dimension 20.
It’s gonna be Mayyyy soon enough
