MTG: Lisa Frank-ly These 90s Binder Secret Lairs Are Amazing
Relive the early days of Magic: the Gathering in spirit—a new Secret Lair conjures cards straight out of a Lisa Frank Trapper Keeper.
Nothing says the 90s like hyper colors in purples, pinks, and neons. From the coveted folders to the covers of binders, which would inevitably get a cool S drawn on them somewhere, the 90s were a heck of a time.
Magic: the Gathering, for instance, got its start during that heady era of grunge, alt rock, and electropop. In the days before card sleeves were all but required, when you could slam your cards right onto the playground surface, making future you cringe as you tore through yet another mox.
You won’t find a black lotus among these nostalgic 90s-themed cards, but they will look like someone took the 90s and modernized ’em.

There are five cards all in all. You’ll find Alms Collector:
A Crested Sunmare that looks like they’re straight out of Robot Unicorn Attack, so you might want to hold on to the night.
How about two amazing friends, off on another adventure? They’re no Rita and Runt, but Rin and Seri, inseparable are sure to be fine, just don’t let them get Phyrexian’d.
There’s an Exotic Orchard staright out of Candyland.
And Goreclaw, Terror of Qal Sisma rounds out the set with enough little bears to drive back the powers of darkness with their tummy-based “stare.”
