MTG: The Spark Of Hope In March Of The Machine – Elspeth And Chandra
Can two Planeswalkers be enough to turn the tide of battle against Phyrexia’s all consuming invasion of the multiverse? Maybe.
While things are looking bleak out there for the multiverse as the Phyrexians breach into every plane and take over everything from the gods to the lands. We’ve seen how some of Magic’s greatest heroes are teaming up to try and take down the invaders.
But we all know that one last spark of hope remains. And in this case, that’s none other than the last two Planeswalkers you’d want to run into at the last possible moment. Here to save everyone it’s Elspeth and Chandra.
March of the Machine’s Spark of Hope
First up we get a look at Chandra, Hope’s Beacon. Now she can not only fix for any combination of colors, she also pulls out up to five instants or sorceries for you at any given turn. And then when she’s ready to move on to the next plane, set everything (well two things) on fire. A lot.
But Chandra has reason to be burning with righteous rage. Gideon and Jaya are dead, Ajani, Jace, and Nissa have all been Compleated. Pretty much everyone that Chandra knows and cares about has been severely Phyrexian’d. Which means it seems like we’ll all get to see just how flammable Phyrexian oil is, in the end.
And then there’s Elspeth. Standing at the precipice of eternity, it seems she’s decided not to vanish into whatever lies beyond, but instead to come back to take the Phyrexians to school. She’s back, in pog form. Well, angel form, if the collector booster boxes are anything to go by.
And if she’s an angel, she might be able to take care of everything. Especially with enough Halo. It’s a team up that we haven’t seen revealed yet, but as the March of the Machine storyline brings the multiverse into existential threat, it’s looming.
