Warhammer 40K Meta Hotness: Adeptus Custodes Wardens
Adeptus Custodes Wardens seemed to really have gotten a glow up with the latest update. Take a look at the next unit that has people rushing out to find a few boxes.
The new dataslate update and changes to the game with Arks of Omen really helped amp up the golden boys. We all know how good a 4+ save can be on a 3+ wound body. A lot of damage right now is set at 2. So 3 wounds are always a pain to get thru. Add a slightly tougher body as well as a 4+ invulnerable save and you start to see how powerfully this unit can be. Oh – and the unit got objective secured on top of it all making it extra spicy.
Custodes Wardens 101
We all know the basics of Adeptus Custode units. They are toughness 5, strength 5, have a 4+ invulnerable save, a 2+ armor save, a 6+ mortal wound save, and this unit even has a 6+ FNP save versus regular wounds as well. All of these things make this unit pretty dang good. Oh – and this is one of the few units that can be 10 models strong. Yes there are other Custodes units that can do this – but with the return of Objective secured and the new Arks of Omen detachment you can run a crap ton of elites and say screw you to the troop tax.
Wardens Shoot Alright Too!
Oh they also have sweet Rapid Fire, -1 AP, and Damage 2 bolters. This is isn’t a bad batch of shooting especially as you stack a few other options up. These guys are going to move, advance, shoot Bolter fire at you, and then be ready to smack back if you get close by.
Close Combat is Scary!
With Armor of Contempt gone now those Castellan Axes are extremely scary. They are hitting on 2+, wounding a lot of things on a 2+, and doing 2 damage. A most excellent statistic that is well set up to wreck some of the new hotness coming down the pipeline wearing 3+ armor.

Armylist Tips & Tricks
This is a pretty neat list with so many fun options and an easy way to get Behind Enemy Lines – the hottest new secondary on playing field. With Banners and a Grind you can easily set up a path to victory as your Wardens dance across the tabletop and bring the pain of the Emperor to the enemies of the Grimdark!
