40 Years of Warhammer: Miniature Retrospective – Gotrek And Felix
Games Workshop is back with another look back at some iconic models. This time it’s the legendary duo Gotrek and Felix!
This year marks the 40th anniversary of Warhammer and Games Workshop is taking some time to look back at miniatures that had a big impact on their work. Today, we’re getting a special look at Gotrek and Felix the two heroes from Warhammer Fantasy that slayed just about everything there was to kill!
Gotrek and Felix
“This dynamic duo debuted in the story Geheimnisnacht by William King – featured in the 1989 anthology Ignorant Armies – and went on to inspire and star in a long-running novel series that has pitted them against unimaginable horrors, terrifying tyrants, and lots and lots and LOTS of goblins”
Sometimes you just need a questing buddy in the world of Warhammer and that exactly what the duo of Gotrek and Felix were. You had Gotrek who was/is the greatest Slayer to ever live. Not even the End Times could end him. And then you had his trusty companion Felix who represented the everyman and was really just a chronicler of their adventures.
This iconic duo has been the feature of a lengthy literary series and their models helped fans play out those adventures on the tabletop.
Furthermore, Gotrex IS the ultimate Slayer and his look has inspired a few generations of the death-seeking berzerkers all across WFB and AoS.
So let’s pour one out for Felix and plop the latest Gotrex on the tabletop! He’s still a mighty warrior capable of taking on every thing in the Mortal Realms…if he can catch it that is!
