D&D Movie Tie-In Plushies From WizKid – A Harrowing But Adorable Future
Merchandising remains the single most powerful force driving the D&D movie, Honor Among Thieves. And these plushes wield that power well.
Look, it’s 2023. No one should be a stranger to a shameless marketing tie-in product by now. Whether it’s a quick cash grab RPG produced for a fast food giant with a social media presence most brands wish they could muster, to Nerf blasters that accidentally spoil characters from the movie long before they’re featured in a trailer, merchandising is where the real money is.
This is why it’s no surprise that there’s this much merchandise already for the Honor Among Thieves movie. From prequel graphic novels to tie-in miniatures, to the plushes featured here today, it almost doesn’t matter if the movie is any good. That it exists is enough to provide grist for the ever-hungering marketing mill.
It doesn’t help that these plushes are surprisingly cute.
WizKids Honor Among Thieves Movie Tie-In Plushes
First up, we have an absolute chonk of a plush, for an absolute chonk of a dragon. This is Themberchaud, which, if that name sounds familiar is because not only does Themberchaud feature in the movie, he also features as the well-fed, lazy dragon of the duergar city of Gracklstugh in Out of the Abyss.
And now, thanks to a partnership between WizKids and Kidrobot, he can be a comfortable cuddly buddy that you hold close. If you have enough room, as the plush Themberchaud is a full 13″ tall:
