MTG: Lord Of The Rings Lands And Spoilers
The Lord of the Rings and Magic crossover continues to deliver, better than expected with every reveal. Check out these new LotR lands!
Say what you will about Magic’s forays into their “Universes Beyond” realms, but the recent LotR spoilers have been proving that even among Magic players, not everyone is as dead inside as they thought. Case in point, a new batch of LotR lands seems poised to capture each realm of Middle-earth in true MtG fashion.
Each of these lands has its own effects, we’ve already seen both the Shire and Mount Doom. But take a look at some of the other lamds and legends that dot the upcoming LotR Universe Beyond. Because sometimes, a place isn’t always a land, as you’ll see.
LotR x Magic – Lands Of Middle-earth
The Valley of Gorgoroth, for instance, is a land dedicated to destroying basic lands. Which is an absolute shame, because many of these basic lands are absolutely gorgeous.
Each one is a map, done up in the style of that most excellent of mapmakers, the Hobbit who has been both There and Back Again and loved to tell the tale, Mr. Bilbo Baggins, formerly of Bag End. Speaking of Bag End, here’s a familiar tree.
The Party Tree happened to mark the 111th birthday of our mapmaking friend. And it will absolutely aid you in your endeavors, not only adding mana but also life, sharing the celebration with every creature who enters the battlefield on your side.
Here we have one last artifact place to round out the spoilers. This time is the great bridge of Khazad-Dum, a long, slender branch of stone, so thin a Balrog couldn’t pass it. At least not without risk of falling into darkness, straying to a place beyond thought and time.
