We’re shocked, shocked to find that the new Shadows Over Innistrad: Remastered set features Liliana and Sorin, dark and brooding once more.

There’s a certain kind of tension that comes from anticipating the expected. Like the breath you hold while you wait for a character to say the thing!

Which is why it’s no surprise to anyone that the upcoming remaster of Shadows Over Innistrad, fittingly titled Shadows Over Innistrad Remastered (SIR) will feature two of the most prominent characters from the set.

Shadows Over Innistrad Remastered – Liliana And Sorin Are Back Because Of Course They Are

Announced on Twitter, these two cards herald the return of Shadows Over Innistrad. Which makes sense because both Sorin and Liliana were iconic parts of Innistrad. Sorin Markov and Liliana of Veil-related fame brought a sort of necromantic Planeswalking power to the set. Sorin, being one of the oldest surviving Planeswalkers, has more than a few tricks up his sleeve. While Liliana brings all things zombie to the party.

One fought against his angel daughter. The other took on the mightiest of the Eldrazi tightens head on with nothing but an army of undead. Both of them were pretty instrumental in things being the way they turned out. So here they are, back again in pog form.

Well in the same form they originally appeared in the set. SIR will be an Arena-specific reprint set coming out on March 21st.

It will feature the set-defining cards and mechanics that both Shadows over Innistrad and Eldritch Moon brought to Magic. But there’s reportedly “updated gameplay” which will make this a “fun and fresh experience.”

So get ready to return to that most dark and gothic of planes. Get ready to face down the creeping might of the Eldrazi before they get locked away in the moon, where all the bad things seem to go.
