Netflix’s ‘Kill Boksoon’ – Being an Assassin is Easy, Parenting Not So Much

When killers make the rules secrets rule everyone. Meet the deadliest assassins in Netflix’s gripping action thriller Kill Boksoon.

Gil Boksoon is an extremely successful contract killer who enjoys her job, but balancing her work with being a parent isn’t easy. When her contract with her agency is about to expire she decides it’s a good time to retire and spend more time with her daughter. A secret she discovers while on her final job puts everything in jeopardy – including her life.

The trailers show some fantastic action scenes, and reviews from its premiere say that its story is just as good.

 

 

Kill Boksoon Details

This movie is part of Netflix’s continued plan to bring the best of Korean entertainment to the rest of the world – a plan spurred by the success of Squid Game. It’s written and directed by Sung-hyun Byun (The Merciless, Kingmaker). The cast is led by Jeon Do-yeon who you may recognize from The Housemaid; she also picked up a best actress award at Cannes for Secret Sunshine. The cast also includes So Kyung-gu, Esom, Ko Kyo-hwan, Kim Si-a, Lee Yeon, Jang In-sub, and Choi Byung-mo.

“Hired by the killing agency MK Ent., Gil Boksoon is both a killer with a 100% success rate and a mother of a teenage daughter. While Boksoon might be a seasoned assassin, she struggles with parenting. When it is about time to renew her contract with her agency, she makes up her mind to retire to repair the relationship with her daughter.

“While on her final assignment, before notifying the company of her decision regarding the contract, Boksoon discovers a secret about the mission and breaks the rule that killers must try to execute all assignments regardless of the circumstances. Now she becomes the target of her agency and the entire hitman industry.”

Kill Boksoon hits Netflix on March 31st.
