‘Shazam: Fury of the Gods’ TV Spot Reveals Major Justice League Cameo
Billy and the team get some help from one of DC’s biggest heroes in this Shazam: Fury of the Gods clip.
Shazam and the team are back in theaters this weekend. They’re taking on new enemies – the villainous Hespera and Kalypso, daughters of the Greek Titan Atlas. And the sisters are not screwing around. They want to hunt the newly formed team down, take their powers, then take the planet. The sequel is much bigger than the first movie. Helen Mirren! Lucy Liu! There are dragons and unicorns and mythological Greek beasts! And humor! And character arcs!
And a member of the Justice League whose next movie has been canceled! Because why not stick it to those fans some more while spoiling part of an upcoming movie? Director David F. Sandberg isn’t exactly happy about the choice to reveal this cameo in a TV spot.

The way they’re not even hiding Wonder Woman’s cameo in Shazam 😭 pic.twitter.com/EVZUkZvUP0

There have been rumors about a Wonder Woman cameo wandering the internet for a while – now we know. The marketing for this movie has been subdued, to say the least. Partly due to the lack of hype from the studio, there’s not a lot of fan excitement built up around this one. I bet it’s hurt ticket sales (surprising no one), and this is a last-ditch effort to get butts in seats. It’s sad. Shazam was popular, it made a decent amount of money – and its sequel is being left behind before it even releases.
I’m a fan of the first movie. It’s my job to keep up with this stuff. I forgot Shazam: Fury of the Gods is coming out this weekend… because of that other action movie coming out this month that actually has marketing. Fun marketing, at that.
Shazam: Fury of the Gods Details
Levi and Angel are back, along with Jack Dylan Grazer, the rest of the kids, and their superhero counterparts. Helen Mirren plays Hespera, Lucy Liu is Kalypso, and Derek Russo is Atlas. Director David F. Sandberg and writer Henry Gayden, who were both on the first movie, are also back.
Bestowed with the powers of the gods, Billy Batson and his fellow foster kids are still learning how to juggle teenage life with having adult Super Hero alter-egos. But when the Daughters of Atlas, a vengeful trio of ancient gods, arrive on Earth in search of the magic stolen from them long ago, Billy—aka Shazam—and his family are thrust into a battle for their superpowers, their lives, and the fate of their world.
Shazam: Fury of the Gods hits theaters this Friday, March 17th.
