Warhammer 40K: Arks of Omen Card XVIII – The Star
A new Arks of Omen teaser video is out and this time we’ve got a bright spot with The Star card.
Sometimes the Arks of Omen Tarot cards are creepy. Sometimes they are mysterious. And sometimes, well, they are what they are. This is a case where a star is a star.
There’s honestly not a lot going on but this feels like one of those “setting up the next one” type of cards. Check out this dialogue to see what I mean.
Arks of Omen Card XVIII – Conjunctus Malascendum
XVIII – The Star
The Star
As wars rage
Beneath the gaze
Of a newborn star
So the star itself has an eye in it. Plus it’s got all those runes and shapes within it’s beams. Are those shapes Aeldari runes or just more generic geometric shapes? I think it could go either way as the “prophecy” part of the text is also kind of generic at this point. But maybe that’s the point? Let’s take a look back at the last few cards and see if this is building on those or setting up the next “verse” for the Arks of Omen cards.
(XVI – The Tree of Life)
But hope blooms
In the garden of lost souls
And burning stars
(XVII – The Lost Child)
And here
A fatherless son
Alone in the endless night
(XVIII – The Star)
As wars rage
Beneath the gaze
Of a newborn star
These three cards seem connected. They either have a reference to stars or children (or both) in some form of fashion. And when you read them together they all kind of fit. From previous cards, it seems like these “verses” come in trios, too. Although, the “As wars rage” could be a reference to the previous “verse” about The Horde and The Young Warrior.
Anyhow, we’ve got a “newborn star” in this card so who knows what it could mean. I have a feeling that we’re going to find out in a few weeks one way or another!
Arks of Omen – we’re 18 weeks in. Yeah…18 weeks!
