Are you a fan of the Krondspine? Do you want more Incarnates running around the tabletop? The Seraphon might be on to something.

The Krondspine is an special unit in Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. It’s effectively the essence of the Mortal Realm of Ghur in physical form and it’s kind of a beat stick for various reasons. For some armies it fixes inherent weaknesses. For others it can just cause problems. Regardless of how you feel about it the addition of the Krondspire really changed the meta. And Games Workshop is teasing that more of these Incarnates are on the way…

via Warhammer Community

“The venerable Lord Kroak has declared that no tool can be squandered in pursuit of the Old Ones’ will – but some slann still take it upon themselves to hunt down those incarnates that they regard as tainted. Stories persist among the skink population that incarnates have been witnessed bearing the totemic forms of Chotec, Sotek, Itzl, Tepoc, and more – dangerous rumours that the priesthood has been quick to clamp down on.”

More Incarnates Incoming

While this might just be a tease from the lore I think this might be a lot closer to the truth than we think. Now, if you’re not familiar with the Seraphon “gods” that’s okay — we’re going to look at each of the 4 mentioned really quick and see if we can make some logical leaps.

Chotec – From the Old World, Chotec is the Lizardmen god of the Sun. GW even had a few glyphs representing Chotec:

An Incarnate that was a representation of the Sun? Sounds like it could be the Incarnate of Aqshy to me! That would represent fire for sure. Or, if you want to go the astrological route with the Sun being a Star after all, maybe it’s from the mortal realm of Azyr.

Sotek – again from the Old World, Sotek is the Lizardmen god of the Skinks and is represented by a “vast serpent which devours rats” and was even large enough to devour the Horned Rat, too.

Hey…waitaminute! That’s just Morathi. But wasn’t Morathi transformed into a god by her own tricks? Well, Sotek lore says that they used to be a minor god but grew in power and eventually became an “upstart, new deity.”

That sounds familiar. But also wasn’t Morathi’s new look due to her contact with Slaanesh? And didn’t the Horned Rat try to take over Slaanesh’s spot on the Chaos God roster back at the start of AoS? Hmm….Anyhow, if that sounds pretty out there I don’t blame you as it’s certainly a reach. If there is an Incarnate running around I could absolutely see it taking the form of a giant snake creature.

The real question is which Mortal Realm would this Incarnate be a manifestation from? Let us know in the comments which one you think would best fit for a giant, rat eating snake!

Itzl – The Lizardmen god of the cold-blooded beasts. This is a weird one because Itzl was sort of the catch-all as the Lizardmen were cold-blooded. What we do know (which isn’t much) is that Itzl is depicted as a three-horned entity and is considered very wild compared to the other Old Ones.

I’d almost say that the Krondspine would fit that bill but Itzl is supposed to have three horns, not four, and these are supposed to be new manifestations of Incarnates. Perhaps Itzl could be from the Realm of Life? In which case Alarielle has some explaining to do!

Tepoc – could this be Feathered Serpent God of the Lizardmen Tepok? Considering he was the god of Air, Magic and Sacred Places that seems like a magical Incarnate waiting to be made to me! He’s the god that supposedly taught Lord Kroak how to use the winds of magic in the Old World. Perhaps this is Incarnate of Ayzr instead? Then again Teclis is pretty much the ultimate Mage in AoS and he hangs out in the Realm of Light.

There’s eight Mortal Realms out there (not counting the Eightpoints or the Blight City). That’s another seven possible options for more Incarnates. The Seraphon are saying there’s more out there — which ones do you think is next?

More Incarnate options? Yes, please!
