Want hard-hitting action that’s also totally bonkers? Do you enjoy watching Nazis getting their asses handed to them? Sisu is for you.

Toward the end of WWII, a prospector hits pay dirt and finds a lot of gold. There’s a catch. He has to travel over fifty miles on horseback through Nazi-occupied Finland to get it to a bank. The journey is held up by a squad of Nazi soldiers that attempt to steal his gold and kill him. The thieving Nazis didn’t know that the man they think is a hapless prospector is Aatami Korpi, a military commander that is no stranger to violence. Their first encounter with Korpi does not go how they expected. Several of them die, Korpi lives, and he is pissed.

The squad’s theft sets off a hunt – Korpi isn’t about to let the fascist goons take what is rightfully his.

If you missed it in front of showings of John Wick: Chapter 4, you can watch the Sisu red band trailer here. The latest clips build on that and show more of what Aatami Korpi is capable of.

Sisu Cast and Details

Jorma Tommila leads the cast as Aatami Korpi; and includes Aksel Hennie, Jack Doolan, Mimosa Willamo, Onni Tommila, and Tatu Sinisalo. The film is written and directed by Jalmari Helander (Rare Exports, Big Game).

During the last desperate days of WWII, a solitary prospector crosses paths with Nazis on a scorched-earth retreat in northern Finland. When the Nazis steal his gold, they quickly discover that they have just tangled with no ordinary miner. This legendary ex-commando will embody what “sisu” means: a white-knuckled form of courage and unimaginable determination in the face of overwhelming odds. And no matter what the Nazis throw at him, the one-man death squad will go to outrageous lengths to get his gold back – even if it means killing every last Nazi in his path.

Sisu hits theaters on April 28. Tickets are on sale now.
